Save Games for Fable: The Lost Chapters

WARNING: THERE ARE MINOR SPOILERS HERE AND THERE! NOTHING EARTH SHATTERING, BUT
ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU A HINT OF HOW TO DEAL WITH CERTAIN TASKS IN THE GAME.

These are the save games for the unpatched version of Fable: The Lost Chapters
for PC. As is usual practice for me when saving in a game without a dedicated
quick save, I used the first slot as a quick save substitute throughout the en-
tire game. For the same reason, the first slot should hold the latest save of
them all, right before I stopped playing. All other slots were saved at various
points; typically right after completing a silver or a gold quest. I won't list
them here, as you can see the locations of each save slot in the game itself.

The archive is the full content from \My Games\Fable\*.* and subfolders, except
that I emptied the Photojournal folder of screenshots to reduce the file size.

Character

I decided to go for a melee type fighter with a little bit of magic on the side
as support. During the game the magic side became quite useful, which probably
was the reason for me to grow a long white beard as the character grew older. I
concentrated on improving the following attributes and magic abilities:

	Physique
	Toughness
	Speed

	Slow Time
	Multi Strike
	Physical Shield

Much later in the game I started improving upon other related attributes and
magic abilities as well, but the above should give you an idea of the kind of
character I played throughout the game - some kind of paladin hybrid.

I decided to be a goody two shoes and did mostly good deeds. In fact, if you
load the last save game (i.e. the first one) you will find two silver quests in
the guild hall - both of them evil quests that didn't fit my character ("Trader
Massacre" and "Bandit Spy Extraction").

Miscellaneous

o The first save slot, which is the last save, reports that I played for
18 hours and 26 minutes. 51 game days had passed, 45 quests were com-
pleted, and I had maxed renown as well as alignment towards good. My
attractiveness was +100 and scaryness +24.

o Here is a list of the demon doors I have opened when loading the very
last save game (which is still the first one):

Heroes' Guild Turn on lamp Done
Rose Cottage Give it a gift Done
Darkwood Marshes	Battle the guardians Done
Greatwood Caves Have a combat multiplier > 14	Done
	Barrow Fields Be overweight Skipped
Greatwood Cullis Gate	Perform an evil deed Done
The Darkwood Bordello	Have sex more than 10 times	Done
Witchwood Stones	Figure out the door's name	Done
Knothole Glade Hit with arrow Done
	Headsman's Hill Defeat Thunder Done
Grey House Be married to Lady Grey Done
Lychfield Graveyard	Return equipment to Nostro	Done
Lookout Point First defeat of Jack of Blades	Done
Abandoned Road Wear various outfits Done
Necropolis Hand over your silver keys	Done

I can't remember the exact number of silver keys in my possession when
the Necropolis demon door was opened, but in the save before (#25) in
Lost Bay I was carrying 8 silver keys. In the next save (#26) I had
spent the keys and got the Bereaver sword, so I spent at least 8 keys.
Yes, I know - probably not a clever choice - but there you go.

Note that the demon doors for Greatwood Caves, Greatwood Cullis Gate,
Knothole Glade and Abandoned Road was done extremely late. It was part
of the last play session I had, where I was cleaning up.

o I managed to open all 5- and 10 silver key chests. Didn't bother with
the tougher chests. If you want to go for these then do remember that
I gave some of my keys to the demon door in Necropolis (see above).

o I probably had the title "Chicken Chaser" for too long - I was annoyed
that I couldn't buy the title "Paladin" anywhere (only by offering a
certain amount of gold to the Temple of Avo). However, after a while I
decided upon "Liberator" as an acceptable substitute.

o Speaking of the Temple of Abo. I messed up and tried giving it 1000
gold when I first found it. Then I played for a long time. Read later
that you have to give it three specific offerings of gold to get the
benefits. I tried doing that, but apparently it was too late.

o Apart from marrying Lady Grey (covering up her misdeed) I also married
a girl in Oakvale. In both towns (Bowerstone and Oakvale) I bought a
house and improved it 100%. I also placed two trophies in Oakvale.

o Apart from two evil silver quests, I completed all other silver quests,
the entire main quest (all gold quests) and all the bronze quests that
had an actual quest structure (i.e. not competitions, book collections
and similar kind of bronze quests). I also got the bordello deeds and
    gave them to the Madam.

o At one point in the game not long after getting the long white beard,
I changed my appearance in a shop. I decided upon a bald head with a
neat "Diablo"-style beard. The women loved it.

o My #1 preferred melee weapon was the Solus Greatsword, which could be
bought in Bowerstone South after the Arena. I didn't buy it right away
as I didn't have the money, but as soon as I did, I bought it and used
nothing else for the remainder of the game.

o I didn't bother with the collectable dolls. Think I got one or two of
them during the game, but that was it. I also never used any boasts.

o I really liked the fishing minigame which I believe is one of the best
implementations of fishing I have yet seen in any RPG. Way better than
in World of Warcraft and Everquest II. The biggest fish I caught for
the competition weighed 482.94 grams. Unfortunately, I still had the
nickname "Chicken Chaser" at the time, and I never managed to beat it.

There are probably some things I forgot to mention, but the amazing statistics
in the game should keep you fully informed whenever you load a save game.
